Citizenship Exam 2026 – USA
App ID: com.mosaicmindsstudio.usacitizenshiptest
Developer: Mosaic Minds Studio LLC ("we", "us", "our")
Effective date: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Citizenship Exam 2026 – USA (the "App") handles your information on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
The short version: the App has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything you enter and all of your study progress stay on your device. We do not collect, receive, sell or share your personal information.
This website
This section covers the practice website at usacitizenshipprep.mosaicmindsstudio.com.
- The website has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or any other personal information.
- Your practice test answers are checked in your browser and are never sent to us. The website may remember your settings (such as your state, answer mode, test version and playback speed) and which questions you saw recently in your browser's local storage, only to make the practice tools work better for you. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
- Microphone. The mock interview page can use your microphone, only after you start the interview and your browser asks for your permission. Speech recognition is done by your browser's built-in speech service (for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari), which may process the audio on its own servers under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store your voice or what you say: the text is checked in your browser. You can deny the microphone and type your answers instead.
- The website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Analytics. The website currently uses no analytics. If we turn on privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (such as Plausible or PostHog without cookies), we will update this section first. It would record page views and a few events without personal data, such as a practice test being finished or an app store button being clicked, and never your answers or anything you say or type.
- Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect against abuse.
1. Information you enter in the App
To personalize your study plan, the App may ask for:
- Your first name, so the App can greet you
- How you are applying (for example, the 2025 or 2008 civics test) and your interview date
- Your age and years as a permanent resident, used only to tell you whether age-based test exemptions (such as the "65/20" rule) may apply
- Your state, ZIP code and congressional district, used only to show the right answers for location-based questions (your senators, representative, governor and state capital)
- Your daily study goal and reminder time
This information is stored only on your device. ZIP codes and districts are looked up in data built into the App, not on the internet. We never receive this information.
2. Study progress
Your answers, scores, streaks, mock test history and practice settings are stored only on your device and are used only to show your progress and choose which questions to review.
3. Microphone and speech recognition
The Virtual Officer mock interview and spoken-answer practice can listen to your answers. This needs your permission for the microphone and, on iPhone, for speech recognition. You can say no and still use the App by answering with buttons or typing.
- On iPhone and iPad, speech is converted to text by Apple's speech recognition. On supported devices this happens on the device. On other devices, your voice may be sent to Apple to be transcribed, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- On Android, speech is converted to text by your device's speech recognition service (usually Google). When on-device recognition is available the App uses it. Otherwise your voice may be processed by that service under its own privacy policy, such as Google's Privacy Policy.
- The App uses the transcribed text only to check your answer during the session. We do not record, save or receive your voice or transcripts.
4. Answer checking with Apple Intelligence (iPhone only)
On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, you can turn on smarter answer checking in the interview settings. It uses Apple's on-device language model, so your answer is checked on your iPhone and is not sent to us. You can turn it off at any time.
5. Notifications
If you turn on daily practice reminders, the App schedules notifications on your device. The reminder text (for example, your practice score and streak) is created on your device. No push notification service or server is used. You can turn reminders off in the App or in your device settings.
6. The officer's voice
The officer's voice and other spoken audio in the App are pre-recorded audio clips made with an AI voice service (ElevenLabs) and included in the App. When the App plays them, nothing is sent to ElevenLabs or anyone else. If a clip is missing, your device's built-in text-to-speech voice may be used instead, also on your device.
7. Links to other websites
The App links to official government websites such as uscis.gov, senate.gov, house.gov and usa.gov. These open in your browser and are governed by those websites' own privacy policies.
8. Backups
Your device may include the App's data in device backups (such as iCloud Backup or Android backup), depending on your device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us.
9. Deleting your data
Because your data is only on your device, you control it:
- Use Settings → Reset progress in the App to erase your study progress, or Redo setup to change your profile.
- Deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.
10. Children
The App is meant for adults preparing for the U.S. naturalization test. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) or the GDPR (EU/UK) may give you rights over your personal information. Because we do not collect or store personal information about you, there is no data held by us to access, correct, delete or move. Your data stays on your device and you can manage it as described above.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles information, we will update this policy and its effective date, and we will update the App's privacy details in the App Store and Google Play. If a change adds any data collection, we will ask for your consent in the App first where required by law.
